Review of IPCC AR4 and AR5
My Mission
AR4/AR5 are roadmaps for future climate scientists by detailing hundreds of important climate questions.
Sharing what I have learned while studying the more than 3000 pages of the IPCC climate assesssment reports, AR4 and AR5.
The United Nations climate assessments reports are used to guide governments around the world on climate policy, including the USA.

Review of IPCC AR4 and AR5
Why AR4 and AR5 are so important.
Theory Chapter
Breaks down CO2 forcing and why models are important.
Temperature Chapter
What is warming? Entire earth? Oceans? Surface? What to know.
Model Chapter
Why use models? How are they doing?
Ocean Chapter
Role of the world's oceans that stores over 90% of Earth's heat.
Atmosphere Chapter
Is the atmosphere cooling or warming the earth?
Gases Chapter

Prediction Chapter
Summary of every important prediction I found in AR4/AR5.
So they say you are not a climate scientist.
Please, do not let anyone tell you are not a “climate scientist” so your opinion does not count. This is so wrong on so many levels not to mention anyone can “follow the science” with AR4 and AR5 being roadmaps.
For example, you might not be able to a build a plane from scratch, but we can all understand how things fly or the basics of aerodynamics. Things like lift, trust, drag, weight, and balance are concepts we can all understand.
The same is true with climate science as you do not have to be a “climate scientist” to understand climate science. We all can read the IPCC AR4 and AR5 to understand the current state of today’s climate science.
Plus, no person on earth is a “climate scientist” as there is no one person on earth that is an expert in everything. For example, someone maybe an expert on the oceans but this not make them an expert on gases, atmosphere, oceans, models, feedbacks, surface temperatures, and all the other areas.
A prime example is Chairman of the IPCC from 2002 to 2015 Dr. Rajendra Pachauri. He was an economist and industrial engineer not a climate scientist. (Note: Dr. Rajendra Pachauri was replaced by Hoesung Lee in February 2015, due to sexual harassment allegations.)
All anyone can do is “follow the science” by reading AR4 and AR5 like I did, you can, and everyone can. AR4 and AR5 are most complete and accurate source of climate knowledge today.
Inspiring the next generation
You might be on the same path?
Sharing what I have learned in my 35 years of being a “climate activist”.
Be an informed climate activist or maybe even the next great scientist.
AR4 and AR5 are road maps for the next generation of climate scientists.
I am awarding $10,000 for the proven rate of CO2 forcing to the next great scientist of our time.
Review of the IPCC AR4 and AR5
Collection of 9200 peer-reviewed climate studies. This is the science with 100s of questions, contradictions, missed predictions, areas lacking data, and more.
Following the Science
Become an informed climate activist!
What is IPCC?
Should the IPCC be Trusted?
The IPCC states in AR5 “it is extremely likely that human activities have caused more than half of the observed increase in global mean surface temperature from 1951 to 2010.” (AR5 FAQ 10.1 Page 894)
They go on to explain any observed warming “cannot be otherwise explained by the finger prints of natural forcings or natural variability simulated by climate models.” (AR5 FAQ 10.1 Page 894)
However, is this true?
Do the 9,200 peer-reviewed studies reviewed by the IPCC itself back this statement up? I think this is very open for debate being best to decide for yourself.
However, one problem I found is AR4 and AR5 are not easy reads because information on any particular subject are spread throughout the 3000 pages over two reports.
That is where I can help because as I studied the 3000 pages of AR4 and AR5 I made a database of every important statement made.
With this database I can quickly sort any subject seeing every statement made on it by the IPCC then presenting to you in easy to understand format here at 10kclimatechallenge.com
In the right column are some examples questions. You can see the full list of questions starting here.
For me, I only trust the science in AR4 and AR5 as I am not a fan of all the spin or one off studies found on the internet. If it is important the IPCC will review it without spin.
Last, I find such IPCC statements like the one above that man is “extremely likely” for causing half the warming seen today is simply unproven based on their own words and science, but please see what the science in AR4 and AR5 show then decided for yourself.
At the very least I hope you gain an understanding of the state of today’s climate science becoming an informed activist, or maybe a future climate scientist solving huge questions like the rate of CO2 forcing? If so, then AR4 and AR5 are your roadmaps.
